With few exceptions, the more
you take advantage of today's technology in the running of your business,
the less you have paper documents with which you must deal. Seldom
is our goal simply to create a paperless environment, but, tracking,
storing, filing, and finding a printed page is one of the most measurable
wastes of time and money.
Some facts to consider:
1.
It costs more for most file cabinets today than the digital storage device
that would securely preserve a like number of documents.
2.
Finding that needed document by searching electronically on a well
designed system can reduce the find time from hours to a fraction of a
second.
3. With off premises storage,
automated backup procedures, and on-line archiving, the safety of having a
"hard copy" has been eclipsed by the security of digital copies.
4.
Digital storage removes the geographic considerations as in "where
is..." Whether you are in Detroit, San Francisco or New York,
you are as close to that needed document as you are to a PC tied into your
enterprise wide system.
We work hard at
streamlining the way businesses operate - one of the very visible
by-products of that effort is that there is less paper clogging the
pursuit of profitability.
Being known as "The
Paper Savers" isn't such a bad thing.
